In the age of the iPhone, the art of reading an actual map is indeed a lost skill. But maps themselves can still be art, even if their practical knowledge is lost on many a millennial, at least according to San Luis Obispo artist Ellen November.

805 recently announced the upcoming unveiling of, "A Journey into the Black & White" a photography and art exhibit that will run from May 4 through May 26 at Studios on The Park in downtown Paso Robles.

When the wildflower boom hits on the Central Coast each spring, most looky-loos take scores of photos. But Paso Robles artist Roberta Fisher took inspiration to create something more.

Somewhere between selling 6,000 comic books a month as a high school student, and producing the mega-hit The Walking Dead, David Alpert has learned a thing or two about "Taking the Weird and Making it Great." And he shared those lessons at a tell-all evening of the same title during a recent visit to San Luis Obispo County. The event was the first in a series of Creative Chats at Studios on the Park in Paso Robles.

Exposure to world-class artwork on California's Central Coast may at times seem limited due to our relative geographic isolation.
