Paso Robles Art Association (PRAA) is a member organization for artists and art lovers. It strives to provide a community of art for all. PRAA promotes art displays, sponsors themed fine-art exhibits and sells members’ original fine art in the Association’s Showroom Gallery and at partnering locations such as Odyssey World Cafe. PRAA provides a space for art classes, interactive demonstrations, workshops, member meetings and guilds.
Members are active participants in every area of the organization. Members manage the administration, develop the interaction, the art, and ultimately the experience. Within the group there are guilds for specific kinds of art—the Photography Guild, the Painters’ Guild and the Pastel Guild.
The gallery displays monthly, themed juried shows of members’ work. In February, artists submitted works in a variety of mediums for the theme “Artist Choice.”
At the reception on Feb. 3, Julie Dunn, artist and co-owner of the Park Street Gallery, judged PRAA exhibit and awarded ribbons for the winners in each of three categories. Julie’s depth of knowledge and interactive delivery made for an enjoyable and insightful time. Many commented on her articulate description of what made her select a particular piece for recognition.
