Capturing beauty “Above the Grade” is the impetus for this month’s Paso Robles Art Association Gallery show, open from May 1 to May 31 and featuring about 20 local artist at Studios on the Park.
PRAA member and volunteer at the gallery Linda Grown-Smith was perched in the gallery with the art of, “Above the Grade,” filling the space around her, offering a diverse range of colors, shapes and mediums created by the many members of the art association. She said that she first joined a long time ago and was not very involved other than the monthly lectures until she thought one day, “why not?”
“It was after I retired eight years ago that I really started to get involved beyond the regular monthly lecture,” Grown-Smith said. “I was an art major at Cal State North Ridge years ago and I felt it was time to dust it off and paint again. I had put it away when I worked fulltime and it was really fun to start to make art again.”
