Tomorrow at Studios on the Park, Drew Mayerson will be in our front window painting for pedestrians from 6-9pm!🎨

Here is a sneak-peek into his studio! Drew Mayerson paints his surroundings whether urban or rural, often relying on his background as a geologist and a natural observer of the environment in which he lives. Drew looks for "ordinary scenes that can be described as muted with a noticeable splash of color or light that draws the viewer into the painting." Oils are his chosen medium.

Meet artist Lynn Kishiyama, who has been collecting paper for as long as she can remember. Her collages are inspired by her memories of Japan - she often repurposes elements from old kimonos and fans. Her works may include maps, enigmatic scrolls, old post cards or Asian currency turning them into contemporary art pieces. She loves to tell people the stories behind her work.

As we celebrate Asian American and Pacific islander Heritage month her work graces our front window. Her work will also be up for our grand opening on this first Saturday of our new exhibition, Life Refurbished. Twenty five fabulous artists have contributed their creative repurposed and recycled art to tell stories and make magic.

Mary Ann and Farrah from Visalia were visiting and found just the right gift for their mom in the Up Front Gallery. This piece is Stephanie Wilbanks’ artwork! Her artwork involves layering different kinds of glass to give texture and interest. Some pieces need to be fired in a kiln as many as three times at different temperatures to get the desired layers!
