Students participate in 'Kids Art Smart Program' through Studios on the Park

The Paso Robles Art Association's April show is currently on display inside the Studios on the Park in Studio #7 at, 1130 Pine Street, Paso Robles. The theme of the show is: Attitude. "It's about what the artist wants to show," said member artist Jeannine Bringman. The show opened on April 7 and will run until May 1.

For everything that artists make, it takes a little bit of resources from the earth.

The circle of life stops for no man. The earth keeps on spinning round and round, each sunrise bleeds into the following sunset, and the art of the day continues changing with the passage of time.

Senior Josh Potter and Junior Carlo Del Valle, both students at Paso Robles High School, have hit the big time, selling their very own works of art out of the new student art gallery at Studios on the Park. Studios on the Park and the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District have joined forces to provide free arts education to all students in the district. The first of a series of art exhibits featuring student work was debuted at a reception Saturday, Nov. 14, during Paso Robles' annual Elegant Holiday Evening Downtown. Both Potter and Del Valle were part of the first display and sold work just a few months into the showing.

Beginning March 20, longer daylight hours and Mother Nature combine to embrace the moment known as the spring equinox. In Northern California, for winemakers, the start of spring means that bud break cannot be far away. For the rest of us, it's a good time for planning spring getaways within about three hours' drive to the north, south and east of San Francisco.

California's famously picturesque Highway 1 doesn't disappoint. The route is a grand procession of soaring cliffs, ragged promontories, and vast sloping hills, the road bending beside an ocean of brilliant blue, passing lovely little towns along the way. Inland, you have the wild beauty of wine country, cultivated by some of the best vintners in the state. Continue south and you hit Santa Barbara, home to upscale restaurants and magnificent taco shacks. There is so much to see and do on this journey, you feel you could make it time and again-and make it new. In any event, it would be fun to try.

Music inspires art at Studios on the Parks in Paso Robles with SoundScapes, on view through Feb. 28. The exhibit features paintings, sculptures, mosaics, and more, all created by local artists and inspired by various genres of music. To find out more, go to studiosonthepark.org.
