Los Osos artist paints with wine
Sometimes an artist needs a glass or two of the alcoholic beverage of their choice to really get the creative juices flowing. Los Osos artist Kirby Banta takes a different approach, opting instead to let a particularly fine vintage of cabernet or zinfandel flow all over the page. "I came home one night and just started painting," Banta said. The sommelier, artist, and former Coast Guard electrician's mate's work is currently on display at Studios on the Park in Paso Robles as part of the Veterans' Voices show, which features art from local veterans.

Veteran art show coming to Studios on the Park
Artwork from kids' art program on display at Studios on the Park
Almond Acres and Pat Butler elementary students and their families visited Studios in the Park to admire student artwork yesterday afternoon. The artwork from the ArtSmart Program was displayed in two studios- one for Pat Butler and one for Almond Acres, a charter school in San Miguel. ArtSmart gives students a challenging art project and an opportunity to see their artwork showcased with professional artists, sculptors and photographers. Saturday night, Studios on the Park will host it's monthly Art After Dark with live music, wine and lots of art for sale. The Studios are filled with holiday gifts, some for under $25. Art After Dark at Studios runs from 6-9 the first Saturday of each month.

Mosaics by Anna Meyrick will be on display at Joebella Coffee Roasters in Atascadero through July 31. Meyrick is the resident mosaic artist and an art educator at Studios on the Park. For further info, visit annameyricksmosaics.com or studiosonthepark.org.
Many forms
Studios on the Park in Paso Robles will host guest curator Henry A.J. Ramos for the opening reception of E Pluribus Unum: From Many, One, a multi-artist, multi-media exhibit examining immigration issues, June 3 at 6 p.m. Wines from Bodega de Edgar will be served, and there will be live music by Shelby Figueroa.
