A little more than 10 years ago, Paso Robles had nary an art gallery. That all changed when Studios on the Park came to town. "We're truly their art studio," Director Sasha Irving said. "We aspire to be a place that anyone can come express themselves creatively and take part in the artistic process. It's a place where anyone can come and connect with the arts." The North County Arts scene has grown and evolved over the last 30 years, just as the region's wines and restaurants have made it a popular tourist destination. Carol Tangeman reports.

She knew she had to have it. The building was condemned by the city of Paso Robles after barely surviving the 2003 earthquake, but artist Anne Laddon could see the potential in the structure and layout of the former auto parts and repair shop on Pine Street.
