For everything that artists make, it takes a little bit of resources from the earth.
With this in mind and looking ahead to Earth Day on April 22, Studios on the Park in Paso Robles is presenting the exhibit Stitched Together, which features gowns made with recycled and found materials that have a humble, contemporary redesign and an earthy elegance.
Opening March 31, the exhibit will also include a gallery pop-up shop with garments for sale in a range of prices. The makers hope to inspire viewers to rethink their own wardrobes and how they might redesign, get creative, save money, and help to reduce the tremendous waste stream that is the garment industry.
An artists’ talk for the exhibit will be held on April 2 at 5:15 p.m. and an opening reception will be held later on April 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. If you’re curious to see how the outfits work in real life, check out the Stitched Together fashion show on Saturday, April 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets for the fashion show are $25.
