Abundance of archetypal art

Where some see purity or innocence, others see a cold and empty void. Many don’t even consider it a color, but the artistic possibilities of white are limitless. The North County artists at Studios on the Park display their interpretations of “Winter White” through Jan. 1. Pictured is Blanco Abandona, a fused-glass piece by Richard Mortensen. In a concurrent exhibit, the artists explore another classic muse: the human form. “Shapely” opens Dec. 15 with an artists’ reception from 4 to 6 p.m. This juried selection of pieces inspired by the body’s soft curves and majestic machinery will be on display through Jan. 22. Studios on the Park is a network of active artist studios gathered under one roof. It’s at 1130 Pine St. in Paso Robles. For more information, call 238-9800 or visit studiosonthepark.org.
