Music can spark an emotion within but can also be an outlet of expression. Musicians entertain crowds with performance and talents that surpass ordinary limits. Rock 'N' Roll Transcending features the musicians we all know and love on stage and in portraits as well as art created by musicians themselves.
Guest curator Celeste Hope explains, "My life has always been motivated by music from the lessons I took as a child, dedication to dance and musical theatre as a teenager, to becoming a rock photographer as an adult. I grew up in Austin, Texas, the 'live music capital of the world,' a city always offering a night of musical discovery somewhere with talented performers, some famous, some just beginning. When asked to curate and participate in a show for Studios on the Park I naturally gravitated to my life-long passion: music and everything it encompasses. It is an artform that is messy, complicated, vibrant, loud, soft, classic, modern, and transcends expressionism."
