Paso Robles Art Association artists express their relationship with the great Ocean: with the animals that live in, around and above her, with the people that play and work with her, the waves crashing on the rocks, rivers flowing towards her or the clouds created from her, or the blue and green and all the colors in between.
Inspiration for this gallery theme from comes from a PRAA member, who told the story of the Salt Doll. Searching for herself traveling over dry land, the Salt Doll found herself standing at the edge of the Ocean. As the foam tickled her she began to melt and she thought “You seem familiar”. Then the waves fell upon her washing her away and she spoke, “Yes, I know who you are.” And as the last grain of salt was dissolving in the great Ocean she cried out, “Now I know who I am”.
