Watercolor paintings by Rosanne Seitz

About Rosanne Seitz
Rosanne Seitz began her art investigation with childhood drawings, photography, oils and acrylics. has learned her skill through reading, investigation and workshops with many talented, well-known artists including Helmeth Wegner, Milford Zornes, Don Archer, Polly Hammett, Charlotte Brittain, Linda Doll, Jeanne Dobie, Frank Webb, Ron Ranson, Dale Laitinen, Don Andrews, Tom Lynch and Katherine Chang Liu. She loves to paint outdoors and in her studio.

Seitz specializes in the watercolor medium using archival papers for her paintings of land, sea, structures and people. Beginning with wet in wet washes of pure transparent color she becomes less transparent with thicker, opaque color to achieve a value range that satisfies her need for dynamic composition. She is drawn to nature, agriculture, and the relationship between man and the land with focus on the vibrant, luminous colors and the dynamic compositions available in nature. She also paints plein air in oil and watercolor. Her limited edition fine art reproductions, with archival inks and paper is available in editions of 200, 99, and 15.

She has taught adult watercolor classes and her own series of workshops since 1993. She does demonstration painting for interested artist groups. She is a Central Coast Watercolor Society Signature Member, a San Luis Obispo Gallery Association member and was a San Luis Obispo Art Center Board Member for two years. She is a member of SLOPE (San Luis Outdoor Painters of the Environment), which paints to increase awareness of our natural environmental resources.

She is also kept busy with her full schedule of shows and art festivals, demonstrations and workshops along with commission work. Seitz is co-owner of The Gallery at the Network, located in downtown San Luis Obispo. She has work in private collections in many states in the U.S., Europe and in Japan.
