About Evan apRoberts
Evan apRoberts is an American artist who lives and works in Los Angeles, California. His artwork is characterized by a loose and intuitive approach which reflects a life-long interest in traveling through and exploring the sublime beauty of the landscape and the sea. Since receiving his MFA in drawing and painting from Claremont Graduate University in 2007, apRoberts has exhibited works internationally and in various cities around the United States.

About Matthew Rosenquist
Matthew Rosenquist was born in Baltimore, MD in 1972. He studied art at George Washington University in Washington, DC and received his MFA in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA.
He currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.

After school he was drawn to furniture and sculpture made with wood. This has been his focus for a number of years. He made this body of work with the intention of bringing his painting and sculpture backgrounds together. Matthew calls these featured pieces “cut-outs”. He cuts them with chainsaw, band saw, rasps, and chisels. Then he paints them with brushes. “The cut-outs feel like a return to my roots as a painter but continue my interest in sculpture.”
