Dennis Curry is a long-time resident artist at Studios. His current work depicts local landscape with oil paint in both plein-air and studio works. Also offered in his Gallery are fine art, limited edition reproductions of his paintings as well as examples of his earlier work as a Printmaker.
From the early 1970βs until 1998 Dennis worked almost exclusively in original print media beginning with abstract and figurative images in serigraphy (silkscreen) and moving on to etching and lithography for his better-known wildlife work inspired by extensive travels domestically and to East Africa.
Always involved with conservation, Dennis currently works with various organizations through his membership in San Luis Obispo Painters for the Environment (SLOPE). One of our main associations currently is with The Land Conservancy of SLO whose work focuses on securing open space in San Luis Obispo County through the retirement of development rights as well as the outright purchase of key properties. SLOPE gets invited to paint on properties LCSLO is working with giving the artists access to many beautiful areas not open to the public in exchange SLOPE gives a % of sales to LCSLO with our last major show raising $10,000 for them.
