Presenter
Laurie Gibson is an editor with three decades of experience serving writers, publishers, organizations (e.g., the Southern Poverty Law Center), and universities (e.g., Stanford). She’s had the honor of proofreading the work of groundbreaking novelist Alice Walker, business guru Brian Tracy, and Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, Inc. Additionally, Laurie taught editing at both UCSD and UCLA Extension for years.
In addition to working with authors of both fiction and nonfiction, Laurie's currently revising her first novel―inspired by British punk rockers The Clash―and sketching out her second, inspired by Los Angeles band Rage Against the Machine.
Loving words, reading, and stories led her to create “Book Publishing 1-2-3” to help writers launch their work into the world.
