Sally Tippman knew she wanted to be an artist, when she first picked up a crayon. In high school and summers during college, Sally took classes at Otis and Chouinard Art Institutes in Los Angeles. As an art major at the University of Arizona and Mexico City College, she studied painting, sculpture and printmaking. Sally moved to New York City, painted and studied at the Art Students League, The School of Visual Arts and The New School for Social Research. She graduated from Columbia University, Program in the Arts in 1963 with a Master of Fine Arts degree. In 1977 she moved to the Central Coast of California and continued her art career. Figurative abstract drawing and painting are Sally’s primary focus. She has had important solo shows and exhibited in many galleries and private collections across the country.
