Mary Satterfield was raised in Los Angeles County. Mary says, "I've loved to draw and paint since I was a child." After her youngest child started school she found a neighbor who was teaching a small oil painting class out of her garage. Mary took lessons from her for about one year. Then she and her family moved to Oregon where she continued to paint as much as she could. Mary was invited to hang some of my pieces in a gallery in Sisters Oregon. They sold.
Painting took a back seat for the next 25 years. Right now Mary says she is at a place in her life where she can focus on painting full time. She says, "I look forward to learning new techniques, mediums and growing in this adventure of art."
Mary has done realism with oils in the past. She has shown in galleries, banks and open air shows. Mary also has pieces hanging in private homes.
