John Barnard had a painting exhibited in the High Museum of Art in Atlanta in 1947 and a one-man show in the Cowie Galleries at the Los Angeles Biltmore Hotel in 1953 and 1954. Since then he has exhibited in numerous oil and watercolor juried shows in galleries as well as museums, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the National Academy of Design in New York, the Seigmann Galleries and others. His watercolors have been shown in all the major juried exhibits and have been awarded many prizes. John works mostly in water mixable oils and transparent watercolor.
