Deb Lysek is a fabric artist creating beautiful original, one of a kind, hand made silk pieces using marbling techniques and silk painting techniques. The silk painting uses a technique called “Serti” where the outline of the design is hand-drawn onto the silk using a resist called “gutta.” The gutta acts as a barrier between the dyes and various blending and shading effects can be achieved. There is no limit to Deb’s creativity and her artwork expresses her range of subjects from free form silk painting and marbling to floral and botanical pieces. In addition to silk scarves, Deb uses her silk painting techniques to create unique and colorful decorative wall hangings.
