It's October which means Halloween, which means pumpkins! Resident artist Jordan Hockett will be back sculpting pumpkins on two different days this season. Instead of carving out flat sections of the pumpkin to create a silhouette or a traditional jack O' lantern, Jordan sculpts his pumpkins creating three dimensional characters. Jordan first saw this new way of carving up a pumpkin on the hit show Halloween Wars on the Food Network while he was a sculpture and painting student at SFSU. Since then, it has become an annual tradition. Come to observe him work on this year's pumpkins and get some pointers on how to elevate yours. See examples of past year's sculpts below.
