In honor of Earth Day 2016, Stitched Together features the original Earth Gowns, new and revisited work from The White Gowns, and The Ragtime Collective – a ragtag group of stitching recyclers. All of the work is created using recycled and found materials: humble, contemporary redesign with earthy elegance.
In addition to the exhibit, there is a gallery pop-up shop, with garments for sale in a range of prices. The makers hope to inspire viewers to rethink their own wardrobes and how they might redesign, get creative, save money, and help to reduce the tremendous waste stream that is the garment industry.
