As the annual Paso Robles Holiday Parade rolled down Spring Street last Saturday, December 1, Studios on the Park did a bit of its own celebrating. Small Treasures ran through Sunday, December 9 at the artist's nonprofit, located at 1130 Pine Street.
The Small Treasures fundraising exhibition was open to all Paso Robles Art Association members and featured both two and three dimensional artwork limited in size to 8" x 8".
All pieces were signed on the back or bottom, creating an anonymous presentation. Collectors didn't know the identity of the artist until they made their purchase.
The Kids Art Smart Fall 2012 show also ran through Sunday, an exhibition of more than 800 works of art created be Georgia Brown and Kermit King Elementary School students during their fall 2012 visits to Studios on the Park through the Kids Art Smart program.
Handcrafted for the Holidays runs through December 30, showcasing 13 of California's finest craftspeople are featured in this invitational exhibition and retail sale devoted to bringing wide public attention to the field of fine craft. The 40 percent commission collected by Studios on the Park supports our efforts to make the creative process available to the public through our unique open studio facility and educational programming. In addition to handling sales, Studios will provide holiday gift-wrapping.
Last but not least, take a tour through "Season Hoopla," a winter wonderland of illuminated "trees." This festive installation features the amazing creations of 11 talented local artists. Through the use of littering lights, decadent decorations, and a myriad of paints, these magnificent works of art reflect both the traditional and whimsy of the season.
