Betty Wick developed a love affair with the color black when she attended high school in Ohio. It was her art teacher’s color of choice. While majoring in printmaking at Ohio University, Betty continued to rely on the color black, enamored by the rich, bold statements, Betty was captivated.
After college, Betty Wick continued her study with graphic arts while working as an illustrator. Her work has appeared in many publications including The Washington Post, and The Boston Globe.
Betty has gone on to illustrate her own children’s books in collaboration with her husband, writer, Michael Stang. More recently, Betty has finished illustrating a children’s book titled Monster Weeds. An adventure that takes place in the created world of a much larger work titled Harmony Beach.
Betty Wick has shown her work in top galleries and is preserved in private collections worldwide.
She lives on the Central Coast of California.
