Reid Cain is a painter, designer and musician living and working in San Luis Obispo, California.
He began studying art and design in his home state of Colorado at The Rocky Mountain College of Art and design with a focus on fine art and illustration. In 1996, Cain moved to Oakland, California and continued his studies, though he shifted his focus toward architectural design.
In 2004, the artist relocated to San Luis Obispo and began painting when time allowed, usually between his architectural design job and freelance design gigs.
His newest series entitled, "Disquiet Places," is a study of abandoned urban settings lost to the modern shuffle of every day life.
The work is expressed with a reserved pallet using traditional technique and modern composition.
The result is at once melancholy, serene and urgent: a nuanced take on the often overlooked places that reside between point A and point B.
